CORONAVIRUS IMPACT UPDATE
To Our Clients and Friends:
We hope that you and your families are healthy and safe. Like many of you, we continue to monitor the COVID-19 crisis and wanted to share with you our commitment to continuity of service and the various initiatives we have implemented as a firm to maintain a safe work environment.
We are monitoring our federal, state, and local government updates, and we will do everything in our control to ensure that we are still available by phone, email, or text. We are committed to serving you with as little disruption to our services as reasonably possible. We have worked in a paperless environment since 2007 and have seamlessly transitioned into a remote workplace for most of our team members.
Our business continuity team is monitoring the situation daily, taking into account guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), public health agencies and state officials. We will adapt our protocols as necessary to maintain our best practices for a clean and safe environment.
For our essential workers in our office, we follow the appropriate disinfecting protocols and social distancing suggestions. We have instructed our team members to stay away from the office, along with our clients' offices, for the most part and if they feel sick or have any of the symptoms identified by the CDC. For field work, we will work with each client on a case by case basis to determine the best approach for the completion of fieldwork while providing our employees and clients with a safe work environment.
We have the technology to allow our team members to work remotely. Our offices remain open only for employees considered essential (no visitors allowed). The California state mandate exempts accounting firms assisting clients with meeting regulatory requirements (filing taxes, etc.) and we are therefore considered mission critical and are exempt from the stay at home order for our essential employees.
Tax Filing and Payment Extension Announced
You may have heard that Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, tweeted recently that a decision has now been made to have filing deadlines coincide with an earlier IRS announcement this past week that payment deadlines are due on July 15, 2020 rather than on April 15, 2020. The IRS released late Friday night official notification of the latest change to filing deadlines. Under this guidance, July 15, 2020 becomes the new filing deadline AND payment deadline without any need to file an extension for federal income tax returns. And this is where words (and details) matter so we were waiting for official guidance. Please read our recent news alert at https://conta.cc/3aa99yX for additional information on this topic. We remain committed to working with you to file your returns in a timely fashion. Many of you are aware that we are using a paperless electronic tax return filing system this year. This will allow us a seamless method of delivering your returns to you as our staff works remotely from home.
SBA Disaster Loan Assistance
The Small Business Administration is offering designated states and territories low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Upon a request received from a state’s or territory’s Governor, SBA will issue under its own authority, as provided by the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act that was recently signed by the President, an Economic Injury Disaster Loan declaration.
Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on SBA disaster assistance.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and evaluate additional measures needed to support our clients and team members. With over 55 years of serving our clients we assure you that we will continue to provide you with the exceptional service you have come to depend on from our firm.
We are grateful for your loyalty and appreciate the opportunity we have to serve you.
Wishing you good health and thank you for your continued trust in LevitZacks,
